ELKRIDGE, MD – September 3, 2008 – E-Structors, specializing in the secure destruction and recycling of computers, electronics and documents, announced today it has moved into a larger space specifically designed to accommodate the growing amount of organizations across the mid-Atlantic region choosing to recycle electronic equipment and the secure destruction of these electronics and unneeded documents.
The new space, located at 7575 Washington Blvd, will increase E-Structors' capacity to process computers, electronics and paper waste to 95,000 square feet, nearly 74,000 square feet larger than their previous facility.
Using state-of-the-art electronic shredding and recycling technology to process nearly 16 million pounds of electronics per year, E-Structors is one of the only professional services of its kind in the country to handle both electronics and document destruction. E-Structors can guarantee that 100 percent of all data contained in electronic equipment, computers and paper documents will be destroyed and rendered irretrievable. In addition to its secure destruction capabilities, E-Structors is the only electronic recycling company in the state of Maryland that can properly collect and recycle glass from items like televisions, a significant benefit as the switch from analog to digital broadcast television takes effect in February 2009.
"Moving to this larger facility allows us to keep up with the rising demand for secure destruction and recycling of computers, electronics and documents," said Mike Keough, president of E-Structors. "The management of electronic recycling and secure document destruction has become a critical issue facing Maryland business. Our increased capacity allows us to help ease this growing burden."
While E-Structors continues its mission of the secure destruction and recycling of computers, electronics and documents, the new facility will open more than 100 jobs in Howard County, the center of Maryland's green movement. County Executive Ken Ulman has formed a Green Business Council in Howard County to set a "model of green" community. E-Structors has been named one of the founding members and, each month, the council will work to advocate best practices in green programs and discuss methods to continue to divert electronic waste from landfills.
E-Structors has been listed by the Baltimore Business Journal as the sixth fastest growing private company in the Baltimore area between 2005 and 2006. The company has also been ranked #17 by Secure Destruction Business magazine as one of the U.S. and Canada's top electronic scrap recyclers. Keough was named to SmartCEO's "Future 50" and in 2004 was named "Innovator of the Year" by the Maryland Daily Record. E-Structors and its leadership are active members of the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID), the Chesapeake Chapter of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) and the Howard County Green Business Council.
